No Improvement in Numbers at Barriers
Twelve grilse and three salmon made their way to the Northwest Miramichi Barrier from August 6th to August 12th. Even with the warm weather people are wondering where the fish are.
The Northwest Barrier has seen only 240 salmon and grilse compared to 780 the same time last year. Brook trout numbers are down as well. Totals as of August 12th are shown below.

Only one grilse and one salmon made their way to the Dungarvon Barrier this past week with only 230 in total arriving at the barrier as of August 12th compared to 693 the same time last year. Brook trout numbers are up compared to last year with 63 arriving to date compared to 27 in 2011.
