Gaspereau fishermen got a surprise when what is believed to be a sturgeon showed up in their net last week. The fish was caught in an Aboriginal commercial gaspereau trap net on the Miramichi.

The reports are in from the Northwest and Dungarvon Barriers. The Northwest Barrier continues to have higher salmon numbers than the same time last year but fewer grilse.
