Canadian River’s Institute is holding a River Restoration Workshop in Fredericton
This course is targeted to individuals who design and review river instream work, particularly for salmon habitat. The course is suitable for Environmental Scientists, Project Managers (e.g., Biologists, Engineers, Geomorphologists, Hydrologists, Fisheries Technicians), Community members, and the general public.
Students will learn how Traditional Ecological Knowledge, best management practices, measured stream geometry, and natural habitat features have guided the work of the Okanagan Nation Alliance in restoration projects. The workshop will teach the math behind stream analysis and hydraulics that direct restoration designs. Students will learn the process of implementing a river restoration project from beginning-to-end.
