Notice to Anglers: Closed Fishing on Miramichi River Cold Water Pools Starting July 26, 2022
Please be informed that according to the warm water protocol in place for the Miramichi River system, starting tomorrow, July 26th, 2022, 29 salmon pools across the system will be closed to all angling due to hot water conditions. For the list of Miramichi River pools closed during warm water protocol, please click the link below. Note that two salmon pools have been added to the warm water protocol - Porter’s Cove Brook Pool and Wassen Brook Pool.
Porter's Cove Brook Pool
The waters of the Southwest Miramichi River, area located at the mouth of Porter’s Brook and including a portion of the said brook. This specific area consist of a portion of the Southwest Miramichi River inside a line drawn from (1) 46.49593, -66.35518; to (2) 46.49364, -66.35452; and then to (3) 46.49120, -66.36314 to (4) 46.49222, -66.36395 (North American Datum 1983).
Wassen Brook Pool
The waters of the Southwest Miramichi River, area located at the mouth of Wassen Brook and including a portion of the said brook. This specific area consist of a portion of the Southwest Miramichi River inside a line drawn from (1) 46.58786, -66.98769; to (2) 46.58680, -66.98740; then to (3) 46.58421, -66.99399 and to (4) 46.58712, -66.99409(North American Datum 1983)
